About/about

Somebody goes and looks on your behalf, and comes back and tells you straight

That is what the word scout is doing in the name. It is the verb, the role and the promise, and it is used in the product exactly the way it is used here.

Why build this now

Two things happened close together. The tools that used to check reviews for buyers died: Fakespot shut in July 2025, ReviewMeta went offline, TheReviewIndex closed and named a platform’s access changes as the cause. And the law changed: the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 came into force on 6 April 2025, making fake and undisclosed-incentivised reviews unlawful in the United Kingdom rather than merely against a platform’s terms, with a regulator that has since shown it enforces.

So the tools are gone, the problem is larger, and it is now a legal matter as well as a consumer one. Nobody rebuilt the tool. That is the entire reason this exists, and it is a market observation rather than a boast: the companies that went were not bad at the analysis, they were cut off from the data.

The one rule everything else is arranged around

No commercial relationship may change a score, soften a finding, suppress a report or reorder a result. That is not a value on a wall. It is built in, not written up: no code path exists by which a merchant relationship could reach a rating. A promise that only a person can keep is a promise that eventually somebody does not.

How the lines fit together

Scout is the prefix on every surface and no surface gets a second invented word, so a customer always knows what they are buying and who makes it.

Avanti Scout
The consumer product. Short form, Scout.
Scout Pro
The consumer subscription. More scouting, faster. Never a different answer.
Scout for Business
The business mirror. See what your customers see, before they see it.
Scout API
The developer line.
Scout Embed
The merchant badge. It reads Scouted.
Scout Insights
The quarterly research.
A scouting report
The thing the product makes. The central noun, on every surface.

Within the Avanti Mind family

Avanti Scout is built by Avanti Mind, and is one member of a portfolio rather than an orphan consumer brand.

How it talks

British English throughout, including in the API’s human-readable fields. Plain declarative sentences. No hype and no exclamation marks. Never a claim the structured data does not support, and never a word that calls a person a liar. The product describes patterns in review data. It does not accuse.
