What is published, and what is not yet

Two documents govern this website today and both are published in full. The rest govern a product that is not open, and are listed here with their status rather than published early, because binding terms for something nobody can buy would be a claim of its own.

In force on this website today

Privacy
What this website collects, which is very little, and what happens to it.
Cookies
Which cookies this website sets, which is none beyond what is strictly necessary.

Required before the product opens

Separate terms per line, because the obligations genuinely differ and one document covering all five would be worse for everybody who has to read it.

Consumer terms
Not yet published.
For the free tier on web, mobile and the extension.
Scout Pro terms
Not yet published.
Subscription, billing across three payment systems, and cancellation.
Scout for Business terms
Not yet published.
Workspaces, listing ownership verification, data isolation and the right of reply.
Scout API terms
Not yet published.
Attribution, rate limits, the prohibition on re-selling review text, and pass-through of the "as of" timestamp.
Scout Embed terms
Not yet published.
What a merchant may and may not do with a badge it cannot edit.
Legitimate interests assessment
Status published, text on signature.
It will be published in full rather than summarised, because a lawful basis asserted without its assessment is an assertion. It is drafted and unsigned, like everything else in this list. What its own page publishes today is its status, its structure and the conclusion it reaches, each read from the document rather than retyped from it.

The position these documents will state

Data protection
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and all primary storage in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.
Lawful basis
Legitimate interest for processing publicly available review data for consumer protection, with the assessment published rather than filed. Consent for marketing and for anything non-essential.
Reviewer data
Minimised at the point reviews enter the system: a platform’s pseudonymous identifier and the account metadata the fraud signals need, hashed at rest. Never a real name where a platform exposes one, never contact details, and never a link between one human being’s accounts across platforms.
Erasure
A reviewer’s erasure request removes the review text and the identifier and retains only the anonymous statistical contribution, which is what makes erasure compatible with the analysis continuing to work. An account deletion completes within 24 hours and is verified by a test that populates every table and then asserts on all of them.
Defamation
Findings describe a body of reviews, attributed to a named signal and carrying a count. Serious harm under the Defamation Act 2013 is the standard the wording rules are designed against, and the defences relied on are truth and honest opinion on a stated factual basis, which is why every finding carries its evidence.

Every one of those describes a product that is not open. None of it is in operation today, because there is nothing yet for it to operate on.
